How to add timestamps in videos on Fermion?
If you’re an online creator, you’ve most likely at one point been fascinated by the tons of creator-friendly features YouTube offers.
One of the most helpful features for an online educator is adding timestamps in your videos, also widely known as “Chapters”.
Now, how do you add them to your videos on Fermion?
Let’s explore
What are chapters?
Adding chapters inside to videos means dividing your videos into bite-sized content so the viewer can easily watch it. Video chapters add information and context to each portion of the video and let you easily rewatch different parts of the video.
This is done by adding timestamps inside the video description area. It is also often done so that the viewer can easily jump to parts of videos depending on what to watch.
Here’s a quick easy example:

How to add timestamps inside your videos on Fermion?
It’s as easy as the way you would add it on YouTube. Let’s break it down into smaller steps:
- The first step is to go to the video you wish to add your timestamps to, now right-click and select “Edit”.
- You would now be able to see a description area where you can set a description and fill in other metadata about the video.
- Simply add the timestamps and the titles the way you wish to your video and click on “Save”.

What are the rules for adding timestamps to your videos?
There are a few rules that you need to keep in mind while adding chapters to your videos:
- Make sure that the first timestamp you list starts with 00:00.
- Your video should have at least three timestamps listed in ascending order.
- The minimum length for video chapters is 10 seconds.
As long as your content abides by the above rules, you should not have any problem with viewing chapters.
To test how chapters work inside your videos, simply follow the steps mentioned above in the blog. Once done, click on any timestamp and you should be able to jump to that part of the video.
